Have you ever stopped to think about how much the people around you shape your day-to-day life? The ways they influence your routines, your habits, even the way you move through the world?
Spend enough time around someone, and you’re bound to pick up some things. Maybe their lingo. Some of their habits. Coexist with someone, and you might start eating differently, spending your time differently, and maybe even thinking a little differently. It happens slowly, but it all adds up, and before you know it, it’s not just your routine that’s changed. It’s you.
The people we keep close don’t just affect our present. They shape who we become. An active partner might nudge you into a healthier version of yourself. A wise friend might pass along lessons you end up using for years.
When we look at it this way, it’s not hard to see that coexisting isn’t passive. The people we bring into our lives help define the kind of life we build.
Dogs are no exception.
Some dogs are happy to adapt to whatever’s happening around them. They’re content with a couple of walks, a comfortable bed, and simply being around you. But some breeds are bolder and don’t just exist within your life. They shape it.
Meet Marie. At just three months of age, she and her siblings (Lisa and Jack) were found abandoned on the side of a country road. After being taken to a small shelter in California, the trio made their way into the care of a local Las Vegas rescue. Now, at nearly seven months old, Marie is still awaiting her forever home, and her story has just begun.
A recent DNA test revealed that Marie is largely Belgian Malinois and Great Pyrenees. If you’re familiar with these breeds, you already have a sense of what that means. She’s smart, keenly aware, and likely to grow into a larger dog who would do best with someone who understands how to work with that kind of energy.
Her Malinois side means she’s going to want to think, learn, and stay engaged. Her Pyrenees side will likely show up as a confident, affectionate dog who’s comfortable in her own space. Put it all together, and you have a dog who’s not just along for the ride. She wants to be part of the plan. Dogs like Marie do best in homes where they’re included, given structure, and allowed to use both their body and their brain.
If you’ve been looking for a partner in crime and you’re drawn to the idea of a dog who’s highly intelligent, engaged, and in sync with your day-to-day life, Marie would be a great match. She’s a ride-or-die who’d thrive with someone who’s ready to shape her world and doesn’t mind having their own changes in the process.
